Friday night, Apr. 18, the GSE team from Clearwater/St. Petersburg Florida arrived in St. Thomas. The flight was two hours late from Miami, due to mechanical problems. But a great group of Rotarians came out to meet them at the airport and get the team to their host homes.
The group includes:

- David Meadows, Team Member
- Alex Rosado, Team Member
- Kelly Weatherby, Team Member
Saturday morning, Carol, David, Alex and Kelly went on a tour of St. John, while Daphne participated in a clean up project at Cass Cay that has received grants from her agency, NOAA.
Their busy schedule looks like this:
- Sat. evening - dinner and fellowship at Rotarian's Tom and Jeni's home, with a private performance of Carabana Theater's "Back Time", a one man show about the oldest man in the Caribbean.
- Sun. morning - Eco-tour kayaking and snorkeling in the Lagoon
- Sun. evening - Steelband Jamboree, part of St. Thomas' Carnival, followed by a vistit to Carnival Village to sample local food
- Mon. and Tues. - Vocational days

Glad to see our team made it OK after their Miami delay. They don't look as apprehensive in this photo as some did when I last saw them off in Tampa 9 hours earlier. I know that is because of the USVI Rotarian hospitality & friendliness that you most certainly showed them (and maybe it is also a bit of relief all their baggage made it with them!) I see you have them off and running on day 1 and have a truly exciting schedule ahead of them. I am anxiously monitoring your and their blogs! THANKS - your friend, DG Tim Schuler (D6950)
We are having a wonderful time with Daphne... in less than 24hrs she helped out with a Beach Clean Up, had an island tour and went boating and snorkeling, and still got to dinner in time for a great theater performance and true Rotary Fellowship, thanks to Jeni Smith and Tom Bolt.
Way to go ADG Don!
